It’s an interesting question – Apple has the money, and has bought many smaller companies to incorporate into itself over the past decade. My answer is no, regardless of whether it’s iOS or OS X.

N.O.V.A. 3 – First Gameplay Video

Gameloft has released the first official gameplay footage of N.O.V.A. 3, aka Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance 3, a FPS futuristic sci-fi shooter. The actual gameplay in the video is less than 40 seconds, but you get a sense of the San Francisco setting.

Republique – From iOS to Mac and PC

Reqpublique, a horror/action/survival game that was originally intended to be a AAA iOS title, is going to have Mac and PC ports, and all three platforms will have their strengths played to – it won’t be just a iOS port where your finger is swapped for a mouse or a trackpad. Of course, the Kickstarter goals have to be met first.

New and Noteworthy – Mac App Store – April 21 – 26

Several anticipated Mac OS X games hit the Apple Mac App Store today, including Deus Ex Human Revolution (the Ultimate Edition), Bastion (pictured above), Dungeon Crawlers, Azkend 2: The World Beneath, and OOTP Baseball 13. Cut the Rope for Mac and Mahjong Elements HDX received large updates.

Apple Announces Worldwide Developers Conference

The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2012 is slated for June 11 – 15, 2012. As stated by the name, it’s focused on developers, and gives them a look at iOS and OS X developments (OS X – not Mac OS X). It also gives them access to Apple engineers. Games are one of the focuses.
