Space Quest Creators Have Reunited

If you’re into the old Sierra adventure games (aka the ‘Quest’ games) and you’ve been prowling around the gaming sites on the internet recently, you’ve probably heard the news – Space Quest Creators Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy have reunited for a new comedic space adventure.

It’s a pretty exciting announcement for those of us who played the Sierra adventure games back in the 1980s and 1990s, and it appears they’ve been running under the radar on this one – a lot of their website dates back to last month.

For those of you who haven’t played, the Space Quest series was a set of six adventure games, although it should be noted the fifth game was designed by Mark Crowe only, and the sixth wasn’t designed by either, although Scott Murphy was involved with it. The games were science-fiction spoofs revolving around a janitor by the name of Roger Wilco (his motto: “Truth, justice and really clean floors.”).

Among the parodies: Star Trek, Star Wars, Aliens, pop culture in general, as well as poking fun at older and newer games and the companies behind them.

Mark Crowe had this to say:

Hello Adventure Gamers-

I can’t tell you how exciting it’s been for Scott and I to see all the boards lighting with an overwhelmingly positive response to the news of our SpaceVenture. Please keep spreading the word and as we’ve said “Stay Tuned” for some even more exciting Two Guys announcements in the very near near future. I can tell you things are happening behind the scenes at a fever pitch right now and we apologize in advance if we’re delayed in responding to everyone’s inquiries.
